Cornerstone Campaign

The cost to conserve and maintain the church is $8,000,000. We are extremely grateful for the generosity of the parish and the community and thank the Lord.

Cornerstone Campaign Report:

Good news! For the past six years over 1600 generous donors, including you, have contributed $7.6 million of the $8 million required to defray the cost of our Cathedral restoration. This includes $2.55 million donated from organizations and individuals outside our parish family. This announces what we hope will be our final push to raise the outstanding $400,000 needed to retire our loan. The intent is to have all funds in hand by June 2016. Fortunately, there is a donor willing to match any new donations to help us complete our fundraising thereby reducing our requirement to just $200,000. In other words, a new pledge or gift will be matched 100% so a donation of $5,000 will be worth $10,000 for the campaign.

As of November 20th, $200,545 has been donated or pledged of the $200,000 required to end the campaign. WE DID IT! Congratulations and well done. And of course a very special thanks to the matching donor. God bless you all!

Contact Don Conrad at (831) 277-1755 or dctimes2@aol.com for more information on how you can assist.

Because we are a functioning parish church, we are ineligible for government funding of the repair of the chapel even though we are a National Historic Landmark. This means our fundraising efforts are continuous and we welcome all gifts and or pledges of any size. Gifts can be given in memory of loved ones and donations may also be made to the Community Foundation of Monterey County for the Royal Presidio Chapel. Gifts of $10,000 or more will be recognized in the Memorial Garden to be located on the east side of the chapel.

Donations can be made directly to:

The Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC)
Royal Presidio Chapel Conservation Fund
